Study: Wearing Controlled Mouthguards May Improve Physical Performance
DrBicuspid (11/12, Busch) reported a new study suggests that “athletes who wear mandible-controlled mouthguards may experience enhanced physical performance.” In a study involving “22 seasoned male rugby players,” researchers found that when wearing controlled-mandible-position mouthguards, “athletes demonstrated a significantly higher peak acceleration and peak force than those who wore no mouthpieces.” The study was published in the journal Injury.
